On the auspicious and sunny morning of 26th January 2020, MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul School celebrated the 71st Republic Day in its vast and beautiful premises. The entire school courtyard was resplendent in the shades of the tricolor. 26th January is indeed a gala day celebration of every Indian!
All the teachers and students assembled in the school by 7:45 am. The day was celebrated with immense pride and patriotism. The chief guests Mr. Udaysingh Patil and Ms. Vaishnavi Patil were welcomed by a band of musicians and were felicitated by the Head boy and Head girl of the school. The ceremony began with the unfurling of the tricolor flag – the pride of the nation by the revered chief guests. The same was followed by a Patriotic song sung by all the students. A very disciplined March past of school students was lead by the Head boy and Head girl.
A warm welcome speech and introduction of the chief guests was done by the students which was indeed impressive. The festivities commenced with a musical note by the students of Grade I to V. A cultural extravaganza was presented representing our rich cultural heritage and diversity. A variety of programs such as Patriotic mash up of songs, speeches, lezim dance etc made the event very enjoyable and a memorable one.
The Hon’ble Chief guest addressed the huge crowd of parents, students as well teachers. He emphasized the need for students’ participation in games and sports and encouraged students to come up with overall improvements. The ISA school award was handed to the school by the chief guest. The principal Ms. Sangeeta Mehrotra accepted this award with the entire team of teachers. Later, the Principal addressed the students as well as parents. Everyone took the pledge to uphold honour, integrity, dignity and uniqueness of our nation. Finally, a vote of thanks was tabled by the student and the function ended with Vande Mataram. Sweets were distributed to everyone.
Overall this national festival left a glimpse of sheer patriotism and love on all.
