A special assembly was conducted on 26th November 2019 by MIT VGS, Pandharpur, to celebrate the Constitution Day. The Department of Social Science of the school organized a special programme to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly under the guidance of Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, also known as the architect of the Indian Constitution. A framed picture of Babasaheb Ambedkar was placed centrally on the stage and the preamble of the Indian Constitution was displayed in the background. The stage was decorated with banners related to the Constitution Day.
The morning assembly for the entire school was held in the auditorium. The students, under the guidance of teachers, prepared and presented programmes based on the theme of Constitution Day or Samvidhan Diwas.
The programs were aimed at giving information to the students about the significance of the day, about the salient features, the values and principles expressed in the Indian Constitution, creating awareness of the Fundamental Rights and Duties as enshrined in the Indian Constitution and to publicize the rich, composite culture and diversity of our nation.
The anchors of Std X presented the programme weaving the various components of the assembly in the common theme. The Morning Prayer was followed by the word for the day (Constitution), the Thought for the Day and reading of the national and international news.
This was followed by showcasing the Importance of the Day and The Constitution Oath and the Preamble was read out by the students of class VIII.
Variety of programs were conducted including a very engaging skit, video clip presentation on the architects of the constitution, singing patriotic songs and a thematic quiz was conducted as part of celebration of the Constitution Day.
The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
