What a beautiful morning when all the kids come to school not with their Parents but with their Grandparents. “Grandparents are a delightful blend of laughter, caring deeds, wonderful stories and love”. Grandparents are special to every child. Their knowledge is invaluable and their love unconditional. In keeping with this, MIT VGS, Pandharpur celebrated Grandparent’s Day on February 17, 2017.

The programme started with a prayer and a welcome song followed by entertaining performances by the students of Grades Nursery – Sr KG where they displayed their love and gratitude towards their grandparents. Various interesting games were organized for the grandparents that they really enjoyed participating in. Tiny tots were excited to perform before their grandparents. They sang songs – “Dada – Dadi, Nana – Nani”& “Grandma and Grandpa”; children tapped feet to the tunes – “Mera Tujh Se”, “ Evale, Evale”, “Good Morning, Good Morning” and also presented 2 heart touching skits in Hindi and English. Grandparents were very happy to witness this event; they appreciated the programme through short verses and words. An overjoyed grandparent said, “I feel proud to see my grandchild perform on the stage. It is a nice feeling to see the school inculcate such values right from Pre Primary”. Others too lauded the school’s effort. Another grandparent said, “The school is doing a great job of reviving moral values in our society. These days, children often don’t respect or have time for the elderly and go about doing their own work. I am happy that my grandchild is learning to value us.” The Grandparents were then escorted for some light refreshments while learning more about the school by visiting the campus and especially their Grandchildren classrooms.
