Blood Donation and Cancer Awareness amongst Women

MAEER’S Vishwashanti Gurukul Niwasi School, Pandharpur organized a Blood donation and Cancer awareness camp on the occasion of the 76 th birth anniversary of Dr. Shri Vishwanath D.Karad, the Founding Chairman of Vishwashanti Gurukul Schools.The programme began at 11:00 A.M. on 5 th Feb’17 with Dr. Sujata Gundewar as the Chief Guest.Dr. Sujata is MD Gynaecology, owner of Sushrut Hospital as well as the Chartered President of the Lioness Club, Pandharpur. H’ble Dr. Sujata has been conducting various camps like Free Bone Density Camp, Hb Camps, Pap Smear & Mammography Camp etc. from time to time to create an awareness among rural women.

Our Guest of honour, Dr. Mrunal Gandhi is the President of the Lioness Club. She is a Homeopathic Consultant and owner of Aishwarya Hotel as well as Dnyanchand Jwellery Shop in Pandharpur. There were other renowned doctors of the area as well who graced the occasion as guests of honour. Invitation was also extended to all our esteemed parents for attending the briefing session on Breast & Cervical Cancer as well as blood donation.

A presentation on breast & cervical cancer, its causes, prevention and cure was given by Dr.Sujata Gundewar. It was a very enlightening session as she presented it with great clarity and expertise.

After Dr. Gudewar’s presentation, people proceeded towards the blood donation camp and volunteered for donating blood. The blood donation camp was organised by the Red Cross

Society. MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul Niwasi School, Pandharpur has been organizing this amp in association with the Red Cross Society for the past three years. The blood donation programme was inaugurated by the dignitaries present for the occasion.

Dr. Gundewar rightly remarked what could be a better gift than a Cancer Awareness & Blood Donation Camp in the premises of MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul Niwasi School, on the occasion of the birthday of the ‘Ambassador of World Peace-Dr. Shri Karad Sir’. The day ended with blood donation camp in which the MIT Staff and the Parents participated with equal fervor.
