Why VGS Barshi

Beyond Books

Indoor and Outdoor Games

Physical activity is vital for a child’s development and lays the foundation for a healthy and an active life. Indoor and outdoor games are important towards this end. The school campus is suitable and secure for sporting activities like football, basketball, cricket etc.
We also have a swimming pool which enables our students to learn this important life skill.
All the equipments are safe, durable and age appropriate for all the students.

Curiosity leads to the quest for finding something new. Our various well developed labs like Math, Science and the latest Robotics lab ensures that our young students explore new ideas and concepts through these innovative laboratories.
Our Social and language labs help our students to understand and appreciate languages in a different light. Importance is given to oral communication skills in forms of speeches, debates etc.

Educational field visits help the students to explore and observe various phenomena and processes in real life. Excursions make the learning experiential which leads to the development of social skills and practical learning. Students get first-hand knowledge and it enables them to see how different processes contribute to the whole picture. It exposes the students to cultural and social experiences, which helps them to learn in a much better way .

Value Education

Education in its totality refers to the all-round development of individuals. Therefore, it should also nourish and awaken the noble qualities in humans so that growth is achieved within the framework of ethics. Value education is expected to inculcate honesty, patriotism, compassion and other virtues among the students. We at VGS, try to achieve this through activities such as poetry recitation, storytelling sessions that cover great and noble personalities, festival celebrations, and sessions that appreciate the beauty of nature.

Role Play and Dramatization

Role plays and drama help in the holistic development of a child’s personality. They encourage students to communicate effectively and build team spirit. As innovative methods of teaching, students of each class are encouraged to present the concepts that they learn, in the form of role plays and drama. This also helps to bring out the hidden talents of the children.

Music and Art work

Music and art have significant positive effects on the development and well -being of an individual. Research has proved that music not only stimulates a child’s overall intelligence and emotional development; but also nurtures his creativity and self -confidence.
At MITVGS we encourage our students to learn to play a musical instrument of their choice. We have a variety of musical Instruments like tabla, harmonium, violin etc to cater the needs of our student’s individual liking.
Art leads to expression of one’s’ thoughts which cannot be expressed through words or verbally. It unleashes the self expression in the most pure form. Art improves the mind and body co ordination. Arts strengthen a student’s problem-solving and critical thinking skills, which help in the academic achievements. It develops attributes such as cooperation, collaboration, leadership and communication, which are crucial in the 21st century.
We ensure that through regular participation in music and arts, students develop self-discipline, persistence, and the ability to do quality work.

Yoga means union of the self with the cosmic consciousness, and its practice results in peace, health and harmony. We at MITVGS practice yoga everyday and the benefits of the same are seen on our student’s body, mind and soul. Yoga improves concentration, composure, posture, bodily functions and physical and mental strength. The physical Asanas and meditation are the basic part of Yogic practice in our school which has paved the way for all-round growth. Yoga not only benefits the individual,  but also play a vital role in a peaceful and progressive society.

Co-curricular Activities & Celebrations

Our aim is the overall grooming and development of children. Curricular and co-curricular activities are given equal importance. Various co-curricular activities are an inbuilt part of the curriculum. Focus is not on competition, but on participation, to develop the spirit of sportsmanship.
MIT VGS gives a lot of emphasis on celebrations. All cultural and national festivals are celebrated, which inculcate a sense of belongingness, brotherhood, and co-existence, and respect and understanding for the various cultural practices and national ethos of India.
