" MAEER’s MIT Pune's , premium CBSE Residential School at Wakhari Pandharpur, Vishwashanti Gurukul celebrated it’s second Annual Day titled “ Generational Values” in a grand manner at the 24 acre school campus grounds on 24 Feb 2013.
Dr Sanjay Upadhyay, Executive Director Vishwashanti Sangh, WPC, Pune, Mr sudhakar Panth Paricharak, Ex MLA and Ex Chairman MSRTC along with Mrs Swati chate, Executive director MIT Group of institutions and Mr Kiranjit Singh Pannu , Associate Director VGS Schools graced the occasion.
Values like honesty, integrity, love for parents, respect for human beings, empathy, sacrifice, morality, courage, valour, simplicity, dignity of labour, respect for women thatt were prevalent at the times of ancient sages , times of great kings , freedom struggle etc made India into one of the greatest nations that everybody envied. But over the last few decades all these values have been degraded and time has come for the children and youth of today to take India back to it’s old glory.
The VGS Pandharpur students through various performances of musical skits, plays, dances and songs tried to revive the good values in the audience comprising of parents and guests from all over Maharashtra . They culminated with a geetopdesh through the final episode of Mahabharatha where Krishna enlightens Arjuna. The level of confidence, performance, language skills and talent depicted by the students was admired by one and all.
Efforts of VGS Staff and all involved in the program success were applauded and commended by the Chief guest and guest of honours.
The day started at 4.30 pm for the parents and ended with a refreshing sumptuous and tasty dinner for all at the school’s Anapurna Sadan hall."

“Dance competition – Classes 6 to 9
House wise Dance competition was conducted for Classes 6 to 9 on 28 Oct 2012.
Amazing and spellbound are the words to describe the magnetic and energetic performances by the children.
The theme, costumes, music and performance were so amazing that at times crowd was left to wonder if it was a school competition or a professional college one.
Principal, Vice Principal and Admin Officer judged the competition and announced the winners.
Points were added to the cultural and overall trophies.

Fancy dress competition – Classes 1 to 5 05/9/2012
House wise fancy dress competition was conducted for Classes 1 to 5 on 28 Oct 2012.
One of the most popular and enjoyable competitions amongst the primary sections of the school was conducted with joy, happiness and lots of fun. Students came dressed as their favourite characters whether from history, fiction, real life, heros, politics, sports etc.
Each one performed to the best of his or her ability and the crowd went into raptures each time.
Principal, Vice Principal and Admin Officer judged the competition and announced the winners.
Points were added to the cultural and overall trophies.

Teachers Day 2012 was celebrated with fun and fervor at the Vishwashanti Gurukul Pandharpur 05/9/2012
“Teachers Day 2012 was celebrated with fun and fervor at the Vishwashanti Gurukul Pandharpur". Students from class 8 and 9 dressed up as their favorite teachers and took classes in the morning.
Teachers Day celebration event took place in the afternoon with great speeches by the children acknowledging the good work of their teachers on shaping them. Their were performances by students and staff and a dramatics competition for the teachers.
Special menu was prepared for lunch and all celebrated together.
Felicitation of all teaching staff and non teaching staff was done with gifts from management.
Appreciation speech was given by the Associate Director Mr Kiranjit Singh Pannu thanking all the teachers for their work done throughout the year and requesting them to challenge themselves more in the coming year.
Vice Principal Mrs K Suneetha and Head Administration Mrs Suman Pannu were present for the entire event and coordinated it from start to end.
The program ended with the Teachers Day Cake cutting ceremony.

Vishwashanti Gurukul Pandharpur : Celebrates Ashadi Ekadashi Festival 27/6/2012 to 1/7/2012
In the true sense of Service before self, Vishwashanti Gurukul Pandharpur celebrated the Ashadi Ekadashi festival from 27/6/2012 to 1/7/2012.
The entire campus was decked up and prepared for the lakhs of Wakharis who were visiting the sacred town of Pandharpur and had a stop-over at Wakhari.
In the true spirit of sacrifice and devotion, the school under the banner of MAEER MIT Pune and the leadership of Dr Prof Vishwanath D Karad as well as Mrs Swati Chate organized Annadan, food for the lakhs of pilgrims and stay arrangement for many of them at the campus.
Medical relief camp was organized with free health checkup and distribution of the medicines.
Regional Wrestling tournament was organized for the Wakhari pilgrims and renowned wrestlers took part with cash prizes and felicitation done for many wrestlers.
All the Dindis passing by the campus were felicitated and wakharis were honoured and cheered all along their passage.
The campus was kept open and Wakharis rested in peace the campus and were also given meals and sweet.
Lord Vithal and Rukhmani’s idols were installed at the prayer hall and pooja wads done for many days.
It was an emotional 4 day festival at the campus and the staff and children were thrilled and satisfied.

Vishwashanti Gurukul Pandharpur : Celebrates Guru Purnima Festival

To make the children aware of the true spirit of Guru and Guru- Shisya Parampara, the Guru Purnima festival was celebrated at the VGS Pandharpur campus of 03/7/2012.
Students from Class 7 presented historical facts, plays and stories about Guru Shisya parampara, importance of Guru and importance of Guru Purnima.
Children were taught about the teachings and lives of famous gurus like Dronacharaya, Swami Vivekanand etc.
Principal enlightened the children about the importance of Gurus, value education, ethics, morals and importance of the same in overall personality development of a child.

Vishwashanti Gurukul Pandharpur : 2012 13 session commences
The 2012 13 academic session has commenced at Vishwashanti Gurukul Pandharpur from 14 June 2012.
Children reported back from summer vacation with full vigour, energy and still basking in glory of the last successful academic session.
100% Pass result was recorded in 2011-12 with tremendous amount of improvement in overall academic and personality development of all children.
Children, even from Marathi medium and Semi English medium background, had tremendous improvement in their English language skills and overall percentage.
This New Year promises to be a instrumental year for Academics, sports and external competitions/ examinations.
The student strength has more than doubled with a number of students joining the residential setup at VGS Pandharpur.
This year we have had students from a far as Mumbai joining us. As usual students from neighbouring districts of Satara, Nanded, Sangli etc have also joined.
There has also been a phenomenal increase in the quality of the teaching staff with teachers joining us from other states like Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Bihar, Rajasthan etc. These CBSE expert teachers will increase the overall academic levels at the school and will push the school towards achieving the goal of being the top 3 schools in the region.
This year the children are being prepared for external Olympiads like the Science Olympiad, Mathematics Olympiad, informatics Olympiad, general knowledge Olympiads, creative Olympiads, English language Olympiad, talent search etc.
School teams would be formed for various sports like Football , Basketball, Volleyball, Skating, Chess, Carrom , Cricket etc and they would compete with other school and regional teams.

MAEER MIT Pune’s Vishwashanti Gurukul CBSE Resedential school Pandharpur's First Annual Day 2011-12 Gives Message of "HEALING THE WORLD” AND WORLD PEACE.
Keeping the tradition of creating socially relevant impact, the first Annual Day 2011-12 of MAEER MIT Pune’s Vishwashanti Gurukul Pandharpur was celebrated with all joy, grandeur and spirit on 31 Mar 2012 at the school campus.
Renowned Marathi film-maker, actor and playwright Mr Rahul solapurkar was the chief guest for the program that was presided over by Dr Prfessor Vishwananth D Karad, The Executive President and Management Trustee of MAEER MIT Pune. The Guest of honour was Mr Manoj Prakash Yelgulwar, the President of Solapur Lok Sabha Youth Congress.
The Executive Director MIT Pune, Mrs Swati Chate and Dr Parimala Subramaniam, Senior Coordinator MIT Pune Schools were special invitees.
The Theme of the Annual Day was Around the World with a message for World Peace.
The Program commenced with the traditional school band reception for the guests followed by the felicitations and prize distribution ceremonies.
The World peace prayer symbolic to MIT Pune was undertaken first by all present.
Welcome Speech was given by Mrs Swati Chate welcoming all guests, parents and children. She reiterated MIT Pune’s quest for achieving highest quality at Vishwashanti Gurukul in academics, sports, cultural as well as personality development.
This was followed by the lighting ceremony.
The felicitation of chief guest and guest of honour was done by Dr Vishwanath Karad with the traditional Sant Gyaneshwara photo , shawl and pasaydan.
The guest of honour Mr Manoj Prakash Yelgulwar congratulated Dr Karad and MIT Pune’s vision to start such a high quality school and successfully complete one year. He was sure of the school becoming the best in the region and country soon.
Prize distribution followed and house trophies were given to students.
This was followed by speeches by Chief Guest Mr Ramesh Solapurkarji who being an avid reader and expert in life of Swami Vivekanand stressed on his ideals being adopted by children of today and to make a better tomorrow. He further congratulated Dr Karad and MIT staff of imbibing good values amongst the children studying at Vishwashanti Gurukul Pandharpur.
Dr Vishwanath Karad addressed all present and especially the children who all felt honoured to listen to the greatest teacher alive and also the visionary Executive President of MIT Pune.
He stressed on children to go through the sayings and teachings of all great saints like Sant Gyaneshwar and create a better world tomorrow.
The vote of thanks and school report with achievement in academics, sports, cultural and dramatics fields were presented by the Associate Director and Principal Mr Kiranjit Singh Pannu digitally on the giant LED screen.
The Cultural event commenced immediately after that with stunning dances, absolutely out of world backdrops images on the giant LED screen and great choreography.
For almost 50 minutes the children transformed VGS Pandharpur parents and guests present and took them on a roller coaster journey around the world to USA, Canada, Europe, Egypt, Australia, Asia, south America and Africa.
Dances like rock and roll, hip hop, African dance, bhangra, jazz, auntiji etc absolutely thrilled the audience who were left amazed by the level of performances.
The Vande Mataram song that was performed by the students was spectacular. The patriotism and love for the motherland was evident in the choreography and the amazing stunts performed by the children.
The Ganpati Aarti song with the use of the traditional lejhims, jhanjs and dhols made everybody nostalgic.
The little tiny tots showed amazing dancing skills doing their African and auntiji rock and roll numbers.
It all cuminated with the “Heal the world” song symbolizing the desire of this new generation to bridge all gaps of hatred and egos around the world and create a better peaceful tomorrow for all.
It was a program that all wished never ended.

Holi Celebration :07/3/2012 and 08/3/2012.2
Holi was celebrated with all fun, fervor and sensitivity to the environment by the Vishwashanti Gurukulers on 07/3/2012 and 08/3/2012 at Pandharpur.
Holika Dahan was organized by the children on 07/3/2012 evening in the campus and all were made aware of the historical reason behind the same.
Holi was celebrated with full joy, enjoyment and lots of colours and sweets in the campus on 08/3/2012.
As part of our commitment to safe environment, all the colours used were organic and naturally made by the children.
Even “Zero Water” Holi concept was followed to save water and save planet.
Special sweets and lunch was prepared for the students.
As part of the Vishwashanti Gurukul youth wing community development programme, the Gurukulers visited the nearby Govt of Maharashtra Old Age home and celebrated the holi with 58 old age inmates of the ashram. They danced and sang songs with the old aged grandmothers and grandfathers and even applied colours.
In the 18 years of establishment of the old age home this was the first visit by any school or organization to celebrate any festival.
Children were made aware of the need to respect and take care of our grandparents and to provide them with all support, help and joy.

LG Mobile Science Lab Demonstration : 05 March 2012
A Science mobile lab demonstration was organized on 05/3/2012 in collaboration with the University of Pune and LG, Korea.
For the first time the mobile science lab visited outside Pune territory and displayed their science act filled with enjoyable but knowledgeable experiments. This helped the students from the school and around 150 students from other schools to understand various basic fundamental concepts of Science and take out their fear.
In groups of 15 students all the students undertook scientific experiments using the experiment kits provided and made working scientific models like the solar powered boat, electrical powered boat, induction torch etc.
Students enjoyed the entire event which was held from 9 am to 4 pm in the campus.

Science Exhibition by Vishwashanti Gurukul Students – 05 March 2012
Classes 1 to 8 from Vishwashanti Gurukul demonstrated their knowledge of science subject by having an exhibition of scientific models and projects created by them in the science labs.
This was a big hit with children, visitors and parents existing as well as guests. The children from classes 1 to 8 explained about their models and projects and left all the visitors stunned by their knowledge and communication skills in English.

Scholastic Book Exhibition 0n 02, 03 and 05 March 2012
Vishwashanti gurukul Pandharpur always stresses on reading habit amongst all it’s students. Books are the best friends for any child throughout his life.
A book exhibition was organized at the Pandharpur campus in collaboration with Scholastic India New Delhi.
Books covering various topics, reference material, fiction, nonfiction, language, communication skills, personality development and many more were on display for children from the age group 2 years to children upto 15 years.
Existing parents, students, guest parents from nearby areas, children from other school and visitors attended the exhibition.

Sports Day Event – 27/1/2012
Nothing beats a 3 hour spellbound event called the sports day that was organized by the school on 27/1/2012.
It was a action packed thriller with edge of the seats performances by children and staff. No spectator could move from their seats and at the end of it everybody wished it never ended.
The program had :
Absolutely disciplined march past led by head boy Gaurav and head girl Sakshi Raipalli.
Each house followed the march past with Einstein, Tagore, vivekanand and Gandhi houses.
The band was playing the beats.
The March past terminated with the torch relay and the oath ceremony.
This was followed by the demonstrations by tiny tots from nursery, junior kg and senior kg.
Next Demo was by Boys and girls from Class 1 to 4- Absolutely amazing.
SuryaNamaskar- the most powerfull exercise in the word demo was done by Classes 5 to 8 boys. Synchronisation and perfection was there to be seen.
Most stunning demonstration of the day was by Girls with their Karate Demos. The energy, stamina, skills and performance was of highest standards. The breaking of bricks, tubelights and the displays were out of this world. Hats off to them.
This was followed by class wise sports events with 2 events per class for boys, girls and combined. Each class participated and competed hard. The relay events , at the end were absolutely stunning and close with spectators out of their seats in cheering. The ball events, skill events , lemon and spoon, book balancing etc were very entertaining and close.
The teacher events, staff events and parent events took everybody to different level of entertainment.
Edusports, leading sports provider demonstrated latest sports curriculum and props. Soon this program will commence in VGS Pandharpur along with 180 top schools in the country.
Mr Uday Doke, Ranji Cricket player and Mr Satyajit shinde world famous Malhambh player were the chief guest and guest of honor respectively. They thoroughly enjoyed the event.
Entire event was supported by high class; high quality music and commentary done by the team led by Mrs suman Pannu, the Admin officer. She herself did the commentary which was enjoyed by all.
IN Cable covered the event and all local press media were present.
“Possibly one of the best sports event in this region” were the words of the media and parents present.

Makar Sankranti Celebrations – 14/1/2012
The Festival of Makar sankranti was celebrated with grandeur in the school. Children were explained the history and the ideal behind the festival and they were given a demontartion of how to prepare the “ TIL GUL” which was then relished by all.

Kite Flying Event – 13/1/2012
One of the most entertaining celebrations of the year was done on 13/1/2012 with the kite flying on the eve of Makar Sankranti. This tradition dates back to centuries and is done all over the country to signal the advent of maker Sankranti.
Each class was given kites and along with their class teachers , flew them and enjoyed the occasion. Special menu was also served and sweets were distributed to all.

National Youth Day, Birth of Swami Vivekanand – 12/1/2012
One of the greatest son of this soil Swami vivekanand’s birth anniversary was celebrated as National Youth Day on 12/1/2012 in School. Master Vivekanand Sonage , who also happens to share the birthday with the great Swami Vivekanand, was dressed as the great man and gave a presentation about the ideals and life of Swami Vivekanad.
Children recited poems and sayings of the great philosopher and took a vow to follow on his footsteps.

Class 5 to 8 Elocution competition – 9/1/2012
Elocution competition for senior classes 5 to 8 was held at school on 09/1/2012. Topics were as follows:
- Class 5 : Uses of Trees
- Class 6 : Major Environmental Issues
- Class 7 : Disadvantages of using Plastic
- Class 8 : Self Confidence
Children spoke with confidence, great command over English and the content and ideas were absolutely stunning. There understanding of the issues and way ahead plans of actions left everybody spell bound.
Competition was tough and the ranking was done house wise and class wise.
Special mention here for Ssarthak ekatpure and Rucha Gujjar who scored very high above 75 points out of 80 points.

Annual Excursion/ Picnic – 7/1/2012
Picnic for the school was conducted on 07 Jan 2012 to the following spots:
- Sahkar Shiromani Vasantrao Kale Sahkari Sugar Factory, Bhalawani.
- Children’s Park
- Ganesh Temple
It was a whole day of entertainment and celebration of being together. Principal, Admin officer, staff and children had fun together, played lots of games and even had a visit of the mechanized sugar factory for the children. Fresh sugar cane juice , absolutely pure form, was served for all. Packed lunch and refreshments were carried along and served to all. The entire day’s of events, games and performances left all tired but satisfied.

Class 1 to 4 Elocution competition - 6/1/2012
The elocution competition was conducted for classes 1 to 4 on 06 jan 2012 at the school. Each house had 2 participants from each class and the added total was taken for the final ranking.
The topics for elocution were as follows:
- Class 1 : Any National Leader
- Class 2 : The Poet you admire the most
- Class 3 : Health is wealth
- Class 4 : Truth alone Triumphs
In each class four rankings were decided by the judges. Children spoke with confidence and good English language skills. Particular mention here has to be made for Soham Pulli from Class 3 who spoke absolutely flawlessly and scored 75 out of 80 points.

Fancy Dress for Nursery, Junior Kg and Senior Kg – 6/1/2012
Tiny tots from nursery, junior kg and senior kg participated in fancy dress competition on 06/1/2012 in school assembly hall. Tiny tots were dressed like the shivaji, Krishna, warriors, doctors, engineers, rani laxmi bai etc.
The costumes, confidence and performance on the stage for these tiny tots was to be seen to believe.
The competition was a roaring success and all enjoyed it.

Drawing competition for host élites – 5/1/2012
School of 2020 was the theme of this on the spot drawing competition for the hostelites held on 5/1/2012. Creativity of children was to be seen and enthusiasm and energy levels were high.
The competition was a grand success.

Classes 1 to 8 essay competition was conducted on 4/1/2012 in the school class rooms.
Topics for Classes 1 to 4 were:

- The Pet that I would like to have.
- What will I do when I grow up
Topics for Classes 5 to 8 were:
- Is Praying Beneficial?
- Mobile Phones : Nuisance or Necessity
- Affect of Technology on human beings
Children exhibited good knowledge and understanding skills, writing skills and grammatical skills. Each class was ranked from first to fourth position.

2012 was welcomed with splendor, curiosity, energy and enthusiasm by the children and staff. Entire campus was decorated and dining hall bore the “Happy New Year’s message”. Special menu was prepared for the day and served to all children and staff. |
