Van Mahotsav is a week-long festival of tree plantation organized every year in the first week of July across India. This movement was initiated in the year 1950 by Union Minister for Agriculture, Dr. K M Munshi.
The student’s of grade IX conducted an assembly on Van Mahotsav on 6th July with great zeal and enthusiasm. A speech was delivered by one of the students highlighting the importance of celebrating Van Mahotsav. The speech was followed by PPT Presentation where the students showcased the importance of trees in our lives, followed by Quiz questions. The celebration was an ideal opportunity to instill the value of social responsibility in the students towards safeguarding trees and forests and various activities.
The student’s of grade I to X participated in plantation program with their class teachers where different types of medicinal plants like Neem, Aloe Vera, Basil etc were planted.
Students followed the theme for the month "GO GREEN" to promote environmental awareness. All the student’s made a poster on the topic “GO GREEN” Each poster had a unique story to tell and spread the message that the green planet they live in must be protected and cared for.
The Principal of the school Dr. Sandeep Khanna congratulated the student’s and teacher’s for their wholehearted participation and encouraged them to be proactive towards keeping the environment green.
