Ms. Sumana Mandal
Principal MAEER MIT Pune’s Vishwashanti Gurukul Loni
The role of school has increased many folds as it has become a ‘world in miniature’. Every academic session is accompanied with excitement, enthusiasm, positive energy and of course detailed planning and tremendous preparation.
‘Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself – John Dewey’
It has become an absolute necessity to incorporate value education to familiarize our children to our rich culture. Endeavor will be to incorporate respect for values, universal brotherhood and philosophy of ‘Vishwashanti’ or ‘world peace’ along with a global outlook and perspective to sensitize them to current developments taking place worldwide and educate them for a culturally versatile future. Today’s challenging dynamic global world makes it imperative to become adaptable and lifelong learners. The CBSE curriculum is a blend of national curriculum with modern pedagogical practices relevant to real life application. The multi-disciplinary approach to teaching, combining the strong theory-based knowledge system of the Indian education with the practical application and research-based approach ensures that our students are equipped with the best of skills and knowledge and are ready to play their role as future global citizens. The curriculum is unique as it weaves inventive thinking, multiple intelligences and differentiated learning. The advantages of being ‘learner and learning-centered’, ‘systematic and reflective’ makes it the most popular board.
We at MIT VGS Loni, encourage our children to become ‘critical analytical thinkers’. Our innovative teaching methodology, attention to the individual, small class size, superior faculty and student-friendly administration are designed to make an unparalleled knowledge base that emphasizes the connection of the mind, body, spirit and fosters internal growth and self-mastery along with skill acquisition. The use of VAKT (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic-through movement and Tactile) and exploratory technique helps in cognitive development and aids comprehension. Learning here is developed by way of participation and unconventional modes using practical, demonstrations, visuals, enactment, web-based themes, projects, presentations, smart boards, experimentation, problem solving etc. which attract and stimulate the tender minds. We have taken education beyond the classroom boundaries and tried to reflect the kaleidoscope of learning, adventures and creativities by using various academic activities on a regular basis.
We believe that positive self-image is benefitted through success in academic and non –academic activities and it is our goal to raise the bar for all students so they go forward with the skills and confidence to be successful in our highly competitive society. We do this by offering advanced classes through language, arts, social studies, math and science while also providing extra support in reading, writing, numeracy and study skills. The mission of MIT VG School Loni is to nurture a culture where students are valued as individuals and allowed to explore their creative talents. Various Extra Curricular Activities and Co-Curricular Activities help our children to explore their creative side and bring out their hidden talents. As a Principal I firmly believe that we need to build a strong character with an innate sense of right and wrong. Compassion along with awareness helps in making right choices. The endeavor is to equip the pupil with the means to find the answers for himself and within himself.

Our teachers or facilitators as we call them are mentors in the true sense. They come from across the country, are trained and have experience teaching in good schools within and outside the country. They are trained regularly to identify each student's skill sets and teach them in a manner that enhances their use of multiple intelligences. The teachers assess a child's learning preference regularly and then design their delivery of course to suit the child. This has proved to be highly beneficial especially with slow learners. The students enjoy the myriad of opportunities each has to succeed at learning and our teachers enjoy watching them succeed. Our teachers are our pillars as they take care of every facet of the child’s personality.
Helping a child to succeed in life is the primary concern of parents. In VGS all children are encouraged to speak publicly by participating in debates, elocutions, poem recitations and school festivals at various levels where, often, they have to interact with or address guests. This helps them in becoming good communicators. Our teachers encourage the children to think decisively, and to communicate effectively. It is their endeavor to make each and every student a world class citizen. An Independent Learner
At VGS project based learning is a reality. Every child has to independently contribute his/her ideas to every project on a regular basis. This gives them an opportunity to genuinely relate to and understand every project that they work on. Ample opportunity is provided to put in practice what a child learns in class and through books.
At VGS, our library is a child’s best friend. They love the comfortable and relaxed ambience, the opportunity to learn from our extensive collection of course material, magazines and encyclopedias and multimedia means like searching through internet and collection of educational DVDs and works of renowned scientists.A World Class Citizen
At VGS, teaching and learning are not activities that are exclusively confined to classrooms. Whether the child is in the hostel or is a day boarder, all are encouraged to participate in activities that exposes them to the latest educational practices prevalent around the world, through the use of latest classroom and Lab technologies, project based learning where a child learns as much by doing as by learning, local educational field trips to places of importance for the children, educational tours abroad to places of historical importance and visits to international schools in India and abroad to participate in debates and other sports tournaments. These efforts result in a child developing better understanding of the world and a well rounded personality.A Critical Thinker
Our school campus provides a stimulating environment by practicing a democratic process for all children to express their views about their life and environment in VGS through appropriate platforms thus helping them understand the process of governance and the importance of disciplines and regulations in school life. They are also encouraged to explore beyond school books and the curriculum by giving them a platform to discuss issues about the world outside, and to analyze events and decisions of regional, national and international importance.Administrative Staff
Our administrative staff is very welcoming and always ready to help you find answers to all your queries. The school relies on its administrative staff for almost everything from answering phone calls, greeting visitors, generating newsletters to developing advertising and planning various activities. These Administrative staff members are the unseen forces behind many daily aspects of the school. They are qualified, well trained and dedicated to serving the needs of VGS School Community.
